Veronica Roth refreshes fans on ‘Divergent’ in preparation for ‘Insurgent’

Veronica Roth’s Divergent was released almost a year ago, so for many fans, it’s been a while since they’ve read the book. Certain details, plot points, or characters might’ve been forgotten over time. This could be a problem for those who pick up Insurgent when it’s released next Tuesday, May 1st, because as Roth explained today, she made the “artistic decision” not to weigh the second book down with recaps from the first.

Obviously, there’s still time to re-read Divergent book in anticipation of Insurgent book, but for those who choose not to do that, Veronica Roth has composed a very helpful refresher guide on her blog.

The guide includes facts about all of the characters introduced in the first book, the major plot points, and where the characters ended up (at least, as far as the narrator and protagonist “Tris” is aware).

The post is of course filled with spoilers, but it serves as a great resource for those who want to be reminded of where Divergent book left off.
